Lassen Volcanic National Park

Many people have never been to Lassen or even heard of Lassen but it is a must-visit park due to its unique environment and history. The park is home to hydrothermal sites like Bumpass Hell, with many acres of bubbling mud pots. Harvey started the summit of Lassen Peak Volcano but became tired shortly after. While we did not get the chance to reach the summit, the views from the area are still outstanding. We hiked and visited the Devastated Area, which is now full of lava rocks from its last eruption in 1914-1917 with 30 volcanic domes erupted over the past 300,000 years. This park definitely surprised us and is worth checking out!
